Aquarian Entertainment produces distinctly Canadian film and television that centres characters the screen industry too often sidelines: queer people, older people, gender-diverse individuals, and those from unconventional backgrounds and non-traditional families. Our stories live in heightened realities grounded in emotional truth: dark comedies, psychological thrillers, and character-driven dramas where the protagonists are messy, defiant, and fighting for something that matters.

We’re building something bigger than any single project. Aquarian was founded to champion underrepresented voices in Canadian storytelling, starting with the work of founder Peter Salvatore Petralia and growing, over the next decade, into a home for many artists whose perspectives have been waiting for a production company willing to build around them.

Based in Nanaimo, BC, and drawing on twenty years of international production experience across four continents, Aquarian develops stories that are personal in origin but global in reach — through fully Canadian productions and co-productions with partners in the US, UK, and Europe.

Aquarian Entertainment is based on the stolen homelands of the Snuneymuxw First Nations. We are committed to being in solidarity with Indigenous Sovereignties on their own terms.
